Why my product is missing from the catalog?

There are situations where a product has been created but is missing from the product catalog. We compiled a list of things to check to make to product visible to your front end users.

 

1. Check if the product is active.

Open the product page make sure the Active checkbox is checked.

2. Check if the product's default category is active.

Every time when we create a product we need to select a default category for the product.

To check if the default category is active go to eCommerce >> Product Management >> Meta_catalog >> Product categories >> The default category and make sure the Active is checked.

3. Make sure the product is indexed.

Go to eCommerce >> Product Management >> Products >> Search for your product.

a) Select the product from the list.

b) From the Action dropdown list select Update Catalog option.

c) Click the Go button to update the catalog.

4. Check if the product is associated with the correct site.

Go to eCommerce >> Product Management >> Products >> Search for your product >> Open the product page.

Make sure the product is associated with the correct site.

 

 

 

5. Check if the product's default category is associated with the correct site.

Another reason why the product might be missing from the catalog is because the product's default category is not associated with the correct site.

First open the product page and check to what default category the product is associated to:

Then go to eCommerce >> Product Management >> Meta_catalog >> Product categories >> Open the default category

Make sure the default category is associated with the correct site.

 

 

 

6. Check if the product has at least two prices one for anonymous users and one for the logged in users.

Open the product page and look for a section called Product prices.

The product must have at least two prices, one associated to the customer group -1 and the other associated to the customer group -2.
