This quick tutorial will show you how to create a CSR code which is required when purchasing SSL certificates.
The CSR code is not server dependent so you can create one using your computer. If you are using a Mac you can run two commands that will create the CSR code for you.
Open the terminal on your Mac and run these two commands:
openssl genrsa 2048 > server.key
openssl req -new -key server.key -out server.csr
When asking about the Common Name use your domain name with www.
The newly created file server.csr contains the CSR code which can then be used to purchase an SSL certificate for your web site.
